Innovation

Industry Problem

Growers need high-resolution, field-scale information on crop vigour, water stress and disease without frequent manual scouting.

R&D Focus

Precision agriculture; satellite and drone imaging; computer vision; AI agronomy analytics.

Innovative Solution

Germen offers satellite monitoring and is developing drone 3D modelling and smartphone image-based plant-disorder recognition, delivered through digital agriculture services.

Solution Effectiveness

The company claims resource reductions of up to 30% through prescription maps and provides satellite updates every 3-5 days. These are company claims; independent validation was not found.

About

Germen is an agritech company based in Salerno, Italy. We develop a species-agnostic imaging platform that turns drone imagery into high-resolution, geo-referenced agronomic insights for orchards and field crops. The software standardizes image acquisition and processing and delivers operational maps and KPIs via web dashboard and APIs, integrating with farm management and geospatial tools. Founded with support from the University of Salerno, Germen combines engineering and agronomy to make sub-field variability visible and actionable, improving yield quality, resource efficiency and traceability.
