It also addresses the challenge of capturing CO2 from both very dilute sources such as the atmosphere and low-concentration industrial emissions, providing safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly carbon removal at a gigaton scale.

Solution Effectiveness

RepAir’s electrochemical technology consumes 70% less energy than conventional carbon capture methods. It removes CO2 at 600 kWh per ton from direct air capture and just 300 kWh per ton from diluted industrial sources, with projected costs as low as $37 per ton for industrial emissions and $70 per ton for direct air capture at megaton scale, demonstrating significant energy and cost efficiency.

Demo Product or Complete Product?

The Direct Air Capture (DAC) electrochemical dual-cell system prototype was unveiled as a field prototype in November 2023. This marks a major milestone with the technology reaching Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6, meaning it has been demonstrated in an operational environment but is still in the development and testing phase before full commercial deployment.
