Alt. Leather is a patent-pending, 100% bio-based alternative to leather made entirely from renewable, plant-based inputs. The innovation lies in our unique materials chemistry platform, combining a regenerative natural fibre backing with a proprietary plant-based resin, bio-elastomer, and a high-performance bio-based topcoat. Unlike existing alternatives that rely on fossil-derived polyurethane or animal hides, Alt. Leather uses no petrochemicals, is compostable under industrial conditions, and achieves durability benchmarks aligned with ISO leather standards. Our platform is modular and tunable, allowing formulation adjustments to meet diverse performance needs across multiple sectors including fashion, footwear, upholstery and automotive interiors.
