Recycle Roots (RR) proprietary technology turns waste biomass into high-value biochar. Our Disposal as a Service (DaaS) model eliminates disposal costs for waste producers while creating a valuable carbon-sequestering product for agricultural and environmental markets. UK and EU generate 250+ million tonnes of hard-to-process liability biomass waste per year. Disposal costs range from €60-150/t, rising as capacity and legislation tighten. Valuable carbon is lost and reputational risk from mis-management downstream is also a concern. Solution RR’s DaaS model is a turnkey, “hole in the wall” solution that processes waste biomass, on-site, at the point of production, in low-touch, remotely controlled, right-sized containerized units, eliminating handling, transport and downstream disposal costs. By offering DaaS, RR retains title to biochar and by focussing on biochar yield and quality RR generates revenue from premium biochar sales. Units have a minimum 10 year lifecycle, are funded by asset finance, built, deployed and controlled by a blue-chip EPCO partner and operated under a low burden permit.
