Precision Oncology Ireland is a consortium that focuses on cancer research and diagnostics. It includes five Irish universities and six industry partners. The consortium aims to develop new diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer treatment. It operates several biobanks, including those for breast cancer, oesophageal cancer, blood cancer, and paediatric neuroblastoma. The initiative is funded by Science Foundation Ireland and aims to transition to the age of digital pathology and tissue-based imaging in cancer research.
